Aslam is a 36 year old Syrian woman who fled from the war in Syria together with her three children; Mohammed, Maria and Jouri. They now live in a small apartment in Amersfoort. This is their first house after living in different refugee centers. The process of integrating in The Netherlands is really starting now.
Aslam tries to focus completely on integrating and raising her children by seeking a balance between the Dutch and Syrian culture. This is not an easy task because in the back of her head the war and their future in Syria are at stake
